The Fireplace...
Next on the big list of improvements is the fireplace.
We have never dared use the fireplace (or get it serviced) because we believed it looked dated and may be quite inefficient for what it is. There was also the tiny chance something was wrong with out and the house would go up in flames, so we never risked it.
The time has now come for the fireplace to be modernised and used.
Before
The new fire place has been in for quite a few months now and is it safe to say that we love it, it is such an improvement visually, plus the fact we can actually use it has made all the difference to the lounge feeling cosy as we come into the autumn. The fireplace surround really compliments the room and the colours we have in there. We had the mantle shelf made wider than advertised so that we can fit all our lovely memory ornaments on there.
Below are some progress photos along with the final finished product. It only took 2 days to do in total so not too may photos of progress to share!
